The Philippines consists of about 7,641 islands in Southeast Asia, located in the western Pacific Ocean. With abundant natural resources and some of the world’s greatest biodiversity, the Philippines has a population of approximately 100 million. Approximately 10 million more Filipinos live overseas. That has been instrumental in attracting fans to Filipino cuisine, one of the world’s most delicious foods.

As Lonely Planet writer Greg Bloom says in his tribute, “Why I Love the Philippines”:

“With 7000 tropical islands on my doorstep, all ripe for exploration, I find it easy to like the Philippines. Love, on the other hand, is borne of subtler things.
